This is not your standard vintage bar accessory; it is a rare and highly collectible mechanical bottle stopper by the world-renowned artisans at ANRI. While most figural stoppers utilize a simple "mouth-open" or "hat-tip" action, this sophisticated piece incorporates the intricate internal mechanical movement typically found only in ANRI’s much larger and more expensive articulated sculptures.
The carving features a spirited Terrier (Scottie or Welsh Terrier) with the characteristic deep chisel work of the South Tyrol region. The mechanical action is surprisingly complex:
The dog stands on all four paws, head tilted slightly downward in a focused, naturalistic gaze (measures 3.25" tall).
When the lever on the reverse is depressed, the entire body articulates, raising the dog into a playful upright begging stance to reveal a "Your Health" placard (measures 4.75" tall).
This wonderful, whimsical bottle stopper is in excellent, working condition.
Finding this specific large-scale movement miniaturized into a bottle stopper is exceptionally uncommon, making this a "must-have" for the serious ANRI or canine enthusiast.
