This early 20th-century Blanc De Chine Chinese figurine depicts an immortal Taoist/Daoist male statue from Dehua Kilns in Fujian.
Standing at 14.25 inches tall, this antique original piece showcases intricate details and craftsmanship, reflecting the Taoist theme prevalent in Chinese art during the early 1900s. With its white color and origins from China, this figurine embodies the essence of traditional Chinese aesthetic symbolism of Daoism or Taoism which is an indigenous Chinese philosophical & religious tradition emphasizing harmony with the Dao. The male immortal statue is holding a flute.
This marked with the Red Lozenge Mark which dates this to the Republic Period 1912-1949 from the Dehua Kilns in Fujian Province China.
