Tall oak tambour-door cabinet / filing or storage cabinet
Material: Solid oak (quarter sawn oak likely), tambour (slatted roll-top) doors
Dimensions: 51“W X 21 1/2“D X 90“H
A striking antique English oak tambour-door cabinet/bookcase featuring rich warm wood tones, architectural crown molding, and beautifully crafted horizontal tambour sliding doors on both upper and lower sections. This substantial two-piece cabinet blends the elegance of late Victorian and Edwardian craftsmanship with the clean lines associated with early campaign and library furniture.
The upper section opens to adjustable shelving concealed behind dual roll-front tambour doors, while the lower cabinet provides additional enclosed storage. The fine oak grain, paneled sides, and understated classical proportions give the piece a sophisticated yet versatile presence suitable for traditional, transitional, old-world, or modern organic interiors.
Originally designed for use in a library, office, or mercantile setting, this cabinet works beautifully today as:
a statement bookcase,
bar cabinet,
media/storage cabinet,
office credenza,
dining storage piece,
or luxury retail display.
The scale and vertical form make it especially dramatic in spaces with taller ceilings.

Minor surface wear, light scuffs, and age-related patina throughout that add to the character of the piece. Tambour doors function properly and one side is a bit more difficult to slide open as smoothly as the other. Structurally sound and presents beautifully. less
