Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if they have been refinished or restored. Specifically, the chairs will need reupholstered as the fabric and foam seats are very worn and delicate, they are priced accordingly. The frames retain the original patinated finish including scratches, dings, nicks as you would expect with a vintage piece. This is a FANTASTIC pair of Louis XV or Bergere style low backed armchairs composed of wonderful walnut toned wood frames featuring GORGEOUS cane inset wingback sides, charming cabriole front legs, and spectacular splayed back legs. They are wearing a lovely gold tweed fabric on their T style loose, zippered seat cushions, front, side, and back aprons, upholstered backs, AND fixed seat back cushions with button detail. And, while we love the fabric… unfortunately, it has seen better days. SIGH!!!!! I mean… this “age” thing catches up to ya quick and some of us could just use a little “refresh!.” It’s just time for them to get a little “nip-tuck” or “facelift,” so to speak. LOL… But we never look at reupholstering as a bad thing!!! Just imagine all the fabric possibilities!!! SOOOO many colors, textures, patterns, solids…. ENDLESS possibilities to create just the right look for your space!!! An interior designers DREAM!!!! With a little love this pair of chairs can be brought back to life and are sure to be the favorite new vintage addition to your home!! Fairfield Chair Company is a 4th Generation, family-owned furniture company based in Lenoir, North Carolina. And, although the company started in 1921, the familial roots date back to 1799 when James Harper was born in Fairfield, PA. In 1820 he relocated to the foothills of North Carolina and created a chain of mercantile and hardware stores in the Lenoir area.
