The body is divided into vertical panels framed by double lines, each depicting a different vignette of scholars, officials, and attendants in an outdoor garden or terrace setting. One panel shows a high-ranking figure being presented with a gift or scroll, while another captures a group engaged in literary pursuits, such as painting or calligraphy.

The neck of the vase features smaller decorative motifs of archaic vessels and scholar’s objects, separated from the main body by a wide band of cracked-ice and plum blossom patterning at the shoulder. The base is slightly recessed with a double blue ring, a common mark of the Kangxi period or later revivals. The brushwork is expressive and fluid, utilizing varying shades of blue to create depth in the figures' robes and the surrounding landscape elements, such as pine trees and stylized clouds.
