I'm parting with it reluctantly as I prepare for a move, and I want it to go to someone who will truly appreciate what it carries.

This is a complete antique New Home 'Light Running' sewing machine set, circa 1930, that carries an extraordinary story. Look closely at the column and you'll find two original gold medallion decals "Republique Française, New Home" and "Exposition Universelle 1889." That's the 1889 Paris World's Fair, the same event that gave the world the Eiffel Tower.

Serial number NH93130 confirms this machine was made circa 1930 at the Orange, Massachusetts factory, one of the final years of independent New Home production. It is now 95 years old, and those decals are still vivid and legible.

The matching cast iron treadle base is a sculpture in its own right, with ornate Victorian scrollwork, decorative flywheel spokes, and 'NEW HOME' cast into the ironwork on both sides. A later white painted finish has developed a gorgeous crackled patina, perfectly at home in a French farmhouse or designer loft. Structurally completely sound. Original black finish easily restorable.

Note: the original wooden table top is not included, presenting an opportunity to add a custom top of your choosing, whether reclaimed wood, marble, or glass.
