The painting depicts a lavish royal procession featuring figures riding atop decorated elephants and accompanied by attendants. Hand-painted on silk cloth.
While often associated with the 400-year-old Pichwai tradition from Rajasthan, similar antique paintings may also be found in Deccani or Mughal court styles.
