This is a stunning example of Victorian-era art glass: an authentic Hobbs, Brockunier & Co. Vaseline glass pitcher in the iconic Hobnail pattern. Originally patented in 1886, this piece features a vibrant, translucent yellow-green body that contains a small amount of uranium oxide, causing it to glow a brilliant neon green under ultraviolet (black) light.
Standing approximately 7 inches tall, this globular-shaped pitcher showcases the meticulous craftsmanship of the Wheeling, West Virginia glassworks. The "Vaseline" hue was a signature of the late 19th-century aesthetic, prized for its oily, translucent appearance and its striking reaction to UV light.
