This exceptional Art Nouveau centerpiece, crafted in the renowned Turn-Teplitz region of Bohemia, is a masterwork of dimensional storytelling. The piece features a finely detailed woven basket-weave body, serves as a stage for two charming, slip-cast putti (cherubs) who appear to be gathering a bountiful harvest of hand-applied pink roses.
The soft pastel glazes and muted gold-toned accents along the rim and base highlight the delicate craftsmanship of the early 1890s. While often referred to historically as "ivory porcelain," the piece is composed of high-quality fine earthenware (faience) with a sophisticated matte finish. It bears the authentic impressed "Austria" and "Amphora" export marks, alongside shape number 20094 and decorator number 117.
Measuring an impressive 14 inches wide, this is a commanding statement piece for a grand dining table, mantle, or sideboard, embodying a classic romantic allegory of spring and abundance.
