The nightstand is structurally solid, sturdy, and fully functional. The oak has been professionally refreshed at some point in the past and presents with a warm, even finish while retaining authentic antique character and patina. As expected with antique furniture approaching 100 years old, there are normal signs of age and use including light surface wear, small nicks, minor scratches, finish variation, subtle wood movement, shrinkage, and other minor cosmetic imperfections consistent with age and use. These characteristics are typical of authentic antique furniture and contribute to the charm and authenticity of the piece. The marble top shows light wear and minor surface marks consistent with age and use, along with natural veining and inherent variations in the stone. The marble is removable for transport. Drawer slides smoothly, cabinet door aligns properly, and the hardware functions as intended. Hardware appears to be original to the piece. Please note that antique furniture is not manufactured to modern precision standards and may show slight irregularities from hand craftsmanship, age, and historical use. Overall, this is a very attractive, well-preserved, and highly usable French Art Deco antique ready for everyday use and display. less
