Design Plus Gallery presents a Circa 2008 Pittsburgh Zoo Outdoor Cafe by artist William Pfahl. This oil on canvas depicts an active café scene at the Pittsburgh Zoo, with seated figures gathered beneath red pavilion umbrellas amid greenery, shaded tables, and sunlit pathways. William Pfahl uses expressive brushwork and layered color to capture the movement and atmosphere of a public gathering. The work is signed in the lower right and presented in a black ribbed frame. It is in good condition; visible and minimal wear from usage.
About Artist
"William Daniel Pfahl works from life as a plein air painter, in oil and pastel. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he is best known for his cityscapes and landscapes of surrounding areas but does portrait, figure and still life paintings as well. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and studied in Rome & Florence, Italy through the RISD European Honors Program."
