Presented for your consideration is a magnificent 19th-century Victorian art glass cabinet vase, attributed to the prestigious Stourbridge firm Stevens & Williams. This piece features a creamy opaque "custard" body with a striking uranium glow (strong neon green under 365nm and 395nm UV light - see picture for the two types of glow produced).
The craftsmanship is exemplary, featuring a hand-applied amber glass handle and a meticulously "crimped" or ruffled amber rim. The focal point is a beautiful branch of applied glass cherries in a rich red-orange hue, accented by textured green leaves. The application of fruit and floral motifs was a specialty of Stevens & Williams during the 1880s, showcasing the technical skill of their glassblowers.
This vase is a "must-have" for collectors of uranium glass, EAPG, or Victorian art glass, offering both historical significance and a stunning visual display.
