An antique bronze sculpture by French animalier artist Pierre-Jules Mène, dating to circa 1890. Mène's masterful technique in lost-wax casting is evident in the finely detailed musculature and expressive features of the dog, showcasing his understanding of canine anatomy and spirit. The sculpture features a rich, dark patinated bronze finish, lending depth and character to the form, a hallmark of Mène's oeuvre.
