Although the chair does … Read more This sturdy chair is made of solid rock maple and has a medium reddish brown stain. Although the chair does not have any visible ink print or manufacturer marking that definitely establishes provenance, its construction strongly suggests State or National Park lineage of the 1950's era. The chair has an oversize stance with wide turned front legs and thick chair spindles.
Wear is consistent with age and use. There are what appear to be "chew marks" on front seat corner. The seat, on top and under need reupholstering. Otherwise the chair is solid and intact.

Height: Top of back rail to floor is 33"
Width is 25"
Depth of seat is 25"
The front legs are 6" High and the chair slopes slightly back to enable the ability to extend legs and sit comfortably by the fire.
This is a rare find; probably used to provide seating around a huge fireplace at a ski lodge. See less
