An antique Sheraton style drop-leaf sewing stand, crafted from rich mahogany and dating to approximately 1840. This Federal period work table features a rectangular top with two hinged drop leaves, allowing for an expanded surface when needed. Below the top, a bank of three graduated drawers provides ample storage, each fitted with decorative brass ring pulls and escutcheons. The stand is supported by four finely turned legs, characteristic of the Sheraton style, terminating in brass casters for ease of movement. This piece reflects the refined craftsmanship typical of early 19th-century American or English furniture.
