Pair of Chinoiserie table lamps, made in Hong Kong by Maitland Smith. in the late 70's. Maitland-Smith is a company well-known for its high-end, hand-crafted decorative items.
The lamps are crafted in the "Famille Noire" style, characterized by a black ground decorated with colorful floral and foliate patterns. Each lamp is composed of a round, porcelain ginger jar body atop a square pedestal base and an Asian traditional design wooden platform.
The hand-painted decorations include traditional Asian elements like flowers and a stylized fishes on the base. They include brass hardware and decorative finials.
