Meunier … Read more This is an original matted French Art Deco lithograph from 1930 by Suzanne Meunier. Purchased by us in France. Meunier (1888-1979) was a French illustrator whose career flourished in France during the 1920’s and 1930’s. She is best known for her nude and semi-nude female drawings. She developed “pin-up” style boudoir illustrations and was well received as a female artist during a time when male artists dominated this genre of art. Her works are increasingly more collectible as they are limited and more difficult to find. Such lithographs are now RARE to find. Meunier's illustrations are soft and gentle. At the same time they are subtle, playful, flirtatious and fun. They showcase the beauty of the feminine body. This image features a semi-nude woman admiring flowers she received from an admirer (Note the card on the ledge.). It speaks to feminity. She seduces her viewer with her pose, her smile, and her virtuous beauty. The soft color palette enhances the beauty as well. The print is clean and pristine and signed by Meunier. 8.25 x 12.25 inches in size. Comes matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 custom mat ready for a standard size frame.
