The central … Read more Solid cast bronze chandelier in the Dutch Baroque tradition, originally made as a candle fixture and later electrified. The central column features a classically turned baluster stem crowned with an ornate acanthus and scroll collar bearing a central aged medallion. Six S-scroll arms sweep outward and upward, each terminating in a deep drip pan and candelabra socket sized for wax. Large spherical orb finial below with hanging ring — faithful to the 17th-century Dutch prototype. Suspended on original heavy link bronze chain.
The bronze carries a naturally aged patina — warm amber at the high points deepening to rich brown and near-black in the recesses — consistent with genuine age rather than applied finish. Currently wired and functioning.
