Presently the boxed seat is upholstered in a serene shade of periwinkle velvet, a more recent upgrade, outlined in a slightly contrasting tufted trim of light green. The floral and foliate motifs interspersed along the wood frame have a lyrical quality as they curve along the apron, a siren's song that draws one closer to appreciate the vision of the artisan, and contemplate the luxurious opulence of the period. The painted finish has delightfully patinated to a craquelure texture in earthy hues of sand which in no way diminishes the confident stance of the short, bowed feet.
