Antique Meissen porcelain serving plate / platter in the iconic Blue Onion (Zwiebelmuster) pattern which features a scalloped leaf shape.
The Blue Onion design, conceived around 1730, is Meissen's most famous motif. Despite its name, it actually depicts pomegranates, peaches, bamboo stalks, and chrysanthemum blossoms, which were early European interpretations of Chinese motifs.
