The armchair is made of oak with coromandel accents, a heavy, well-balanced frame, straight forms, and a later upholstered seat in cream fabric with a blue bird and peacock motif, finished with decorative nailheads.

The design combines the more expressive character of the Amsterdam School with the restrained geometry of the Hague School, both rooted in Dutch early 20th-century craftsmanship.
