This chair, estimated to be from the late 19th century or early 20th century is an English-inspired Windsor chair in the John Wanamaker style. It is specifically characterized by its tall arched spindle back and elegant farmhouse-inspired silhouette. It is likely made of walnut and has its original stain and rush seat. This chair has a lovely form as well as a fabulous patina, and would be fantastic as a side chair in a focal spot!
No maker's mark was found, but the quality is outstanding!

The original rush seat is beginning to show fraying, specifically minor splitting of the fibers (see photos), but the seat does not sag and is fully able to support the weight of an occupant. Some care should be taken not to pull on the rush, but the underside of the chair attests to its sturdiness. Minor finish wear and dings/scratches customary with age. less
