Stunning pair of mid 19th century oil lamps with ink blue glass fonts on ornate brass and gilt animal tripod stands with ram’s head paw supports. These lamps exemplify the elaborate craftsmanship of the period and are of English or French origin. The embossed wick knob, “ Hink’s #2 Duplex”, suggests a specific type of burner, indicating attention to detail in its construction. Lamps of this quality and design are sought after by collectors for their historical significance and decorative appeal. Fabric pleaded shades included.
Very good condition, consistent with and use. Some wear/tarnish on caps of glass fonts. Dimensions of each lamp without shade measure 29” H x 7” W x 7” D. Shade dimensions are 12” H x 18” D.
