Lovely Japanese painted 4-panel byobu (folding screen) "Big Pine Tree and Egrets". Signed and sealed by artist. Gouache, watercolor and ink on paper. Silk brocade border. Lacquered black wood frame with beautifully engraved copper corners, plaques and medallions showing age patina. Fabric over paper and original label on back. Japan, Showa Era, circa late 1960s to 1970s. Very Good condition - minor age wear overall, no damage to the painting, some staining on silk border, a small repair on paper back, strong hinges, clean, sturdy.
