These charming pieces were produced in Japan, primarily during the 1970s, and are often attributed to the Gempo pottery studio. Marked with original sticker UCTCI

In muted earth tones with the woman in a long dress and the man in striped overalls. The small pots held by each figure serve as openings for two small candles, typically about 5/8" in diameter.
Natural stoneware with a characteristic uneven glaze
Often described as folk-style pottery, similar to the work of artist Lisa Larson.

We love the adorable expressions, the round face and bodies and altogether 'coupleness'. A charming and pleasing figurine with added on functionality of couble-candle holders.
