This fold-open example features a recessed magnetic compass in the upper leaf with cardinal point markings (N/S); radiating hour lines engraved on the lower dial with central gnomon peg , and rich geometric Moorish-style decorative etching throughout both panels. A horizontal brass rod connects the two hinged leaves for correct solar angle adjustment. Maker's label reads "Taller Las Casillas" - a respected Spanish artisan workshop.
