George III Mahogany Architect's Table. Table features a tilting, adjustable writing surface inset with its original-style tooled leather. Flanking the top are swing-out candle slides, an ingenious period detail that provided illumination for evening work. Table is raised on square, slightly canted legs, and has a light and graceful stance while maintaining excellent stability even when extended to the open position. The warm mahogany grain has developed a deep patina over centuries of use.
