Depicts … Read more Charming late 19th century French faience collectible plate featuring a scene from the colorful Guignol Puppet Theater in Lyons. Depicts a king, spear-bearer, and comic figure on a tropical stage. Complete with French dialogue, decorative borders, and vibrant hand-painted detail. Marked HB&C Choisy, France, for Hautin Boulenger & Cie, a prominent French faience manufacturer based near Paris. Originally founded in 1804, the company produced high-quality decorative faience and won awards at international exhibitions. In 1920 it acquired the Creil-Montereau factory, becoming HBCM, and continued operations until the mid-20th century.
