The upholstery is newer than the construction of the chairs. The original upholstery was also vinyl but a brighter red. The backs are in the style of Gio Ponti with the thin ladder back slats at the top of the chairs. There are horseshoe stretchers that support the legs. An amazingly timeless dining chair design.
