Striking sculptural postmodern desk with matching chair upholstered in cream cotton canvas. Plastered wood is finished in a warm creamy neutral with faux travertine appearance. Classic, timeless appeal will fit in with any type of interior design, modern, traditional, minimalist or coastal. It was purchased through a high-end interior designer in the early 1980's as a custom piece.
It has distinctive rounded column legs, an iconic 1980s postmodern look. There is a discreet pull out drawer that offers functional storage without disturbing the clean, streamline silhouette characteristic of high-end interiors of the era. This postmodern style is reminiscent of Art Deco design.
The piece is rather heavy for its size, an indication of its sturdy and substantial construction. The condition is very good with light, age-appropriate wear and coloration. Structural solid and ready for use as a writing desk or vanity.
