A late 19th-century English oak joint stool made in the 17th-century Gothic (Jacobean) revival style. The stool features a lidded box seat above a well-proportioned base with fluted and ring-turned legs joined by square stretchers. The apron panels are carved with a repeating Gothic arcaded motif, and the hinged lid opens to a shallow storage compartment.
