Known as the "Modern Penthouse" lounge chair it combines contrasting cognac-toned burnished saddle leather with a large highly polished chrome flat-bar metal frame. The chair has a clean modern silhouette with a broad squared back. The boxed seat and back cushions having welted leather edges, linear flowing arms, and a continuous cantilever sled base. The tall back is angled subtly into a lounge position, and is framed by the chrome, creating a paneled effect. The chair is executed in a Modernist Metropolitan Penthouse style, blending a sleek frame reminiscent of Bauhaus designs with warm leather, well-suited for a library, study, office, or modern living space. Original order tags from Henredon are present on the underside of the chair. Arms measure 26.5" tall. The chair is in exceptional condition with a desirable aged patina as seen in photos. This is the large version of the rare cantilever lounge chair designed by Ralph Lauren.
