It is a watercolor, numbered plate from a book of Alpine mountain flowers. This book was published as a botanical study of mountain flora and its adaption to its habitat. It had limited circulation, thus making these botanicals rare to find. The watercolor plate was illustrated by Paul A. Roberts (Signature is in lower right.) The lithograph showcases the "Martagon lily ". This lily has strong reflexed (bent-backwards) petals with speckles. It is popular as it attracts butterflies. This image is rich in vibrant color. It has a rich depth of quality and interest. It is in pristine condition. The image is 5.5 x 7.5 inches; the image with its clean borders is 7.75 x 11 inches in size.
