The piece features a warm olive-green base glaze with hand-painted vertical stripes in shades of brown and black, creating a rhythmic, earthy mid-century pattern typical of the era.

The lid includes a practical spoon rest notch and a sturdy arched handle in glossy tones, while the body shows subtle variations in the glaze that highlight the artisanal hand-painted quality of the Kosmos decoration.

It measures: 7.5" in diameter, has a mouth that is 5.625" in diameter, and is 4.125" tall without the lid, and 5.75" tall with the lid on.

Gunvor Olin-Grönqvist (1928–2005) was a Finnish ceramic artist who worked at Arabia from 1951 to 1992. She created the Kosmos pattern, produced between 1962 and 1976, drawing inspiration from nature with bold yet harmonious glazes and forms suited for everyday use in the home.
