The decoration in relief on both sides feature and dynamic hunting scene with a horseman with dog chasing a deer and initials VA
There are floral motifs at the narrow sides
It closes with a small screw top lid
Although quite reminiscent to similar flasks depicting St. George killing the dragon, which were made in quantities for the Christians in the late Ottoman Empire, the image here most likely portrays a ruler or warrior and it looks more Islamic, judging by the wide yatagan like sword
Possibly used by Armenian pilgrims (there is one with St. George in the MET museum, object #06.840)
A flask with similar hunting scene, recently sold by Bonhams, Paris was also listed as Armenian
Circa late 1700's, Ottoman Empire

Measurements: Approximately 6.25" high x 3.25" x 1.5" overall
It weighs 1 lb. 3 oz.
