This 19th century Louis XV Country French commode captures the warmth and grace of provincial craftsmanship, rendered in richly grained oak with a beautifully aged patina. Sized at only 36 inches wide, it is a versatile piece for smaller spaces, equally lovely beside a bed, between a pair of chairs, or beneath a mirror.
The two drawers are framed with molded panels and accented by their original hardware, including graceful bail pulls and shaped key guards. The serpentine apron, cabriole legs, and softly carved details bring the unmistakable movement of the Louis XV period, while the oak construction gives the piece an honest country French presence. A charming antique commode with history, proportion, and timeless appeal.
