originally designed in 1993, the chair is known for its distinctive sculptural back and seat featuring radiating cut-out slots. The pattern creates a striking play between light and shadow while also providing flexibility and comfort.

ditzel drew inspiration from the decorative wooden fretwork — often referred to as “gingerbread” — found on traditional houses on the island of trinidad.

the seat and back are executed in moulded veneer while the chair stands on a slender tubular steel frame, giving the design a light and elegant expression.
