Antique country French oak desk or farm table, c.1830
A good size desk or small farm table, with a rectangular plank top, a long drawer on the end and a smaller drawer to the front. Both drawers open and close smoothly. Standing on square tapering legs. It has a good color throughout with a flowing wood grain to the top. Solid pegged construction with all joints recently glued and tightened, and also recently waxed and polished. The top in particular has a smooth well patinated antique finish.
At some point the base of the legs have been extended, which is a common practice in country furniture, as they would have been worn down over time.
