Beautiful set of two ethereal vintage Italian Cartepesta hanging angels with instruments to hang in your windows or on your … Read more Beautiful set of two ethereal vintage Italian Cartepesta hanging angels with instruments to hang in your windows or on your tree. Each is carefully hand-made of paper mache reinforced with wire and hand-painted --one in light pink robes and one in light purple robes, both with tan, pink and soft brushed wings and brown instruments. Hands appear to be made of clay. The pink angel holds a small harp or lute and the purple one holds guitar or mandolin. Sweet hand-painted faces, multi-color angel wings and gorgeous robes. Pair beautifully! Made in Italy, likely in the 1930s or 1940s, but could be older.

Condition consistent with age and use. Minor paint loss on both; the pink angel has cracks in her wings and is missing a small tip on one wing, as shown in the photos. Please see pictures for details and condition.

The purple angel measures approximately 6" w x 3" d x 7 1/2" h and the pink angel measures 6" w x 3 1/4" d x 7" h. See less
