This exceptional George Nelson "Coconut" chair, designed in 1955, is a rare first-edition specimen featuring the original molded steel shell. Before Herman Miller transitioned to fiberglass for mass production, a limited run was crafted in metal—making this specific version highly coveted by museum curators and serious design collectors.

This piece is presented in its authentic, unrestored vintage state. It retains its original purple upholstery designed by the legendary Alexander Girard.
