Absolutely incredible vintage twisted rope glass picture frame with gilt details and velvet backing. The gold studs around the edge are a great modern detail. The "floating" oval glass frame ring is a delicately twisted rope of glass, signature to the style of Carlo Scarpa, possibly while he was with Venini. It is held in place by gilt rings setting it floating off the main frame. The frame backing is held in place by tiny nails. (the bottom one is missing, but it is sturdy and holds in place just fine.)

The velvet backed stand has come apart slightly, but the frame still stands on its own just fine. It is possible to have some straps added to secure it, or to glue it, but we wanted to leave restoration up to the end user. A new more modern back and stand could also be added. Priced accordingly! less
