Stunning Japanese 4-panel printed byobu (folding screen) after the painting "Tsuruga no Mai" (Dancing Cranes) by Atsushi Fujii. Superb printing quality with gold ink on paper. Silk brocade border. Lacquered black wood frame with engraved copper corners and medallions showing some age patina. Fabric on back. Comes in a storage bag and box. Japan, Late Showa to early Heisei Era, circa 1980-1990s. Nearly excellent condition - no damage to the painting nor back, minor edge wear on one of the panels (please see image #12), strong hinges, sturdy, clean, age patina on copper corners and medallions. This screen most likely had one owner and was in storage for few decades.
