Lovely vintage Japanese painted 4-panel byobu (folding screen) "Sparrows and Persimmon" in Yamato-E style. Signed and sealed by artist. Gouache, watercolor, ink and gold powder mist (kin-iro) on gold-leaf style paper. Silk brocade border. Lacquered black wood frame with beautifully engraved copper corners, plaques and medallions showing age patina. Paper on back. Japan, Showa Era, circa 1960-1970s. Very Good condition - minor age wear overall, touch-ups over two scratches (on the lower corner of the 1st panel and on the 4th panel, as it is shown on the images #13 and #14), two small repairs on paper back, strong hinges, clean, sturdy.
