Excellent Japanese 4-panel painted Byobu (folding screen) depicts Samurai on his horse. Signed and sealed by artist. Gouache, watercolor and ink on gold-leaf style foil plates over paper. Silk brocade border. Lacquered black wood frame with beautifully engraved copper corners, plaques and medallions showing some age patina. Paper and original label on back. Japan, Showa Era, circa 1970-1980s. Nearly excellent condition - minor age wear overall, one very small touch-up on the lower side of the 1st panel (image #15), two small repairs on back, couple small touch-ups on the frame, strong hinges, clean.
