Offered is a sculptural pair of cantilever lounge chairs based on the 1927 Constructivist design by Russian avant-garde artist Vladimir Tatlin, produced by Gordon International in 1987 and accompanied by the original manufacturer tear sheet.
Each chair features a continuous polished tubular chrome frame forming both the circular sled base and integrated wraparound arm/back rail, supporting a saddle-shaped leather sling seat. The dynamic looping structure exemplifies early Constructivist experimentation with industrial materials and spatial geometry.
Gordon International’s late-20th-century authorized production faithfully interprets Tatlin’s original 1927 concept and represents one of the more desirable documented posthumous editions of this important avant-garde design.
