The design of the table was influenced by airplane construction, and the the goal was to create a high-strength, low-weight structure using similar bracing struts and wires for support.
The small size (scaled down from the larger version from the same series) coupled with an extraordinary capability to withstand heavy weight lends itself to use as a handy low sofa or bedside table, stool, plant stand, or easily transportable writing surface/tray table. It can also sit atop a larger table or console.
Despite its simplicity, there are stylish design attributes including the architectural chromed-steel base and beveled edges, which better reveals the seven surface layers of birch plywood.
Minimal, elegant piece that is equally practical and durable.
Good, used condition (patch of wear to black laminate surface along with general wear to the metal base, as shown).
Retains the Eames for Herman Miller tag to the reverse (this particular tag was used between 2003-2007).
