inscribed on the bottom, written in pencil, with his name and the date 2-11-37 of creation.
This chair representing classic North Carolina folk art. Made from willow branches, grapevine, hickory, and possibly oak, the chair’s bottom is inscribed with “Caleb Lankford,” making it a unique, one-of-a-kind handcrafted piece. It is composed of spindles, hand canning and delicate joinery.
It has minimal damage, and the nails, attachments, and overall structure remain particularly sturdy. See less
