This piece features a … Read more A striking vintage Judaica wall charger designed by Maurice Ascalon for Pal-Bell, dating to approximately 1939–1950. This piece features a richly detailed central relief depicting a figure blowing a shofar with architectural elements reminiscent of the Temple, framed by a wide, verdigris-toned field accented with fine gilt banding.

Known for blending traditional symbolism with modernist metalwork, Ascalon’s designs are highly regarded within early Israeli decorative arts. The sculptural center and aged patina give this piece a strong presence, making it equally suited for wall display as a focal point or layered within a curated gallery arrangement.

Crafted in metal with an applied verdigris finish, the charger retains its original hanging hardware on the reverse, allowing for immediate display.

Condition:
Vintage condition consistent with age. There are 2 small chip along the outer rim with a corresponding hairline crack (shown in photos). This does not detract from its overall presentation and is not visible when displayed at a distance. The piece has been priced accordingly.
