The vessel is decorated in a rich underglaze copper-red, showcasing a powerful central motif of a writhing five-clawed dragon and a soaring phoenix encircling a raised central boss. The mythical creatures are surrounded by stylized ruyi-shaped clouds and flaming wisps, symbolizing the harmony of yin and yang. A horizontal six-character mark is integrated into the design near the base of the central medallion, attributing the piece to the Ming Dynasty.

The sides of the flask are embellished with a continuous scrolling lotus vine, while the neck and edges are bordered by wave and classic scroll patterns. The reverse reveals an unglazed, flat back with a recessed circular center, showing the natural buff-colored clay body and signs of age. When viewed in profile, the flask displays a pronounced convex front and a flat reverse, a silhouette traditionally inspired by Middle Eastern metal canteens.
