Hand … Read more A rare pair of Qing Dynasty Chinese Blue and White Storage / Ginger Jars from the Mid 19th. Century.
Hand decorated in varying shades of underglaze blue with whimsical Foo Lions or Dogs chasing the eternal flaming pearl. Sylised clouds and flames decorate the heavens.
These are heavy, 9lbs each, with their original flat lids, hand thrown, painted and glazed.. Expected glaze contractions, pitting, with iron rust mark inclusions throughout - all testament to their age. See close ups taken in direct sunlight.
Later Qing Dynasty. 1850-1890.
These jars suit mantles, tables, or areas that need a bit of decoration - or they can be used as intended or added to a collection of blue and white.
From a collectors estate on the East Coast of Florida.
